Dear Bro. King: This letter is in response to your phone
call of January 1. You told me at the time you, Robert Mason, and Bill
Verwers would like to meet with me to discuss matters of interest. I am
responding by letter to minimize any chance of a miscommunication. My initial inclination was to decline in
meeting with you. I am quite busy with the work of the Lord here. Neh. 6:2-3.
However, upon further reflection and prayer, I and the elders of this church
are willing to meet with you if you will let us know in advance the topics
you wish to discuss. It is natural for us to have reservations
about a meeting. You have worked to destroy Bro. Goodwin's credibility and
you have worked to destroy this church in this city, in this nation, and
around the world. If we meet with you, please understand
that we refuse to listen to any charges, claims, grievances, gossip, innuendoes,
or disparaging statements about Bro. Lloyd Goodwin, Bro. Vernon Goodwin, any
minister or any saints in this church. --It is the Devil who is the accuser of our brethren. Rev.12:10. We
refuse to become an accuser or a judge. We are not interested in the
results of any investigation. The ungodly are the ones who did dig up
evil. Pro. 16:27. The Lord gave us a paddle to cover up evil, not to dig it
out and expose it. Deut. 23:13-14. Furthermore, we will not engage in any
debate with you or your brothers. II Cor. 12:20, Rom. 1:29. We will not enter
into any strife. 11 Tim. 2:24, Isa. 45:9. It is our sincere prayer that you are
beginning to realize that your course of conduct over the last year has been
wrong. I know many ministers of the gospel have written to you to point out
the wrong spirit that has motivated your attacks. Others in this church have
admonished you as a brother. We pray that this has benefited you. If there has been such a change of heart,
our elders welcome a meeting with you. Our only request is that you identify
to us beforehand the topics you would like to discuss. That way we can be
prepared to discuss those matters with you. If you will identify, in
writing, those topics and agree that you do not intend to attack the
credibility or expose the faults of any person, then we will agree to
meet with you. Our position has not changed, and will not change; Bro.
Lloyd Goodwin was an outstanding man of God. He built this church on the
right foundation. We are going to build on that foundation. I Cor. 3:10-11.
We will hold fast to the form of sound words which we received from Bro.
Goodwin. 11 Tim. 1:13 We are not ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of
our apostle, Bro. Goodwin. 11 Tim. 1:2. I await your response. Sincerely, Glenn Goodwin Minister GG:
agw I would just like to respond to some of
Glenn's comments in his letter to Gary. Really? I'm sure the press will love
that one. So let me see if I have this right, Glenn. It doesn't matter to you
if there are guilty parties or not, you don't care? Glenn also wrote: Ah. Great terms. So you would only
meet with Gary King IF he didn't bring any allegations-- no matter how
justified they may be? Glenn also wrote: You should be. Not only was your uncle
a controlling cult leader, in my opinion, but he gave plenty of prophecies
that turned out to
be false. You're not ashamed of that? How do you explain it away? What, no response? I thought you
weren't afraid of questions. Glenn also wrote to Gary in this letter: So your position is that people who
expose evil are ungodly? That we should just let them get away with it? I
suppose you don't agree with men who hunt Nazi war criminals, either? Glenn wrote: Boy, you're taking that scripture WAY
out of context. So for example, if I knew about a rape that occurred in your
church, your position is that we should use our "paddle" to
"cover up" that evil? I await your response. |
