NINTH LETTER TO LLOYD
GOODWIN
Mark 10:17-18 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running,
and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may
inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him,
Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God.
I wrote this in response to a
message he had just given and he made it very plain in that message that we
were backsliders and said that God didn't love us. A young woman who had
written the first
Johnston High School article
had given me the videotapes of Lloyd Goodwin's trip to Africa along with some
other materials that Lloyd Goodwin had given her when she went to church. As I
watched that, I was amazed that he stood there and smiled and shook his head
yes while these people literally "worshipped" him. He used to tell us
that: "Some people
say that the greatest day of their lives was when they met Jesus Christ but I'm
here to tell you that the best day of your life was when you met a man of God,
(meaning himself) because I am going to take you to the kingdom!" (That may not be the exact wording but
it is close.) I cannot remember what page I copied from "The Subtle Power
of Spiritual Abuse." It's a great book.

Dear Mr. Goodwin:
Greetings again in the name of Jesus.
I was sorry to hear that you really believe
that God doesn't love us. I am not writing this to defend myself. Truth needs
no defense. I know that I as well as others who have left your church are not
backsliders. I am closer to my Lord than at any other time in my life.
Also, as I watched the videos from your trip
to Africa, I was amazed at how you received the worship of those poor precious
people of God! How could you do such a thing? How could you receive the worship
that only god Himself deserves? Even Jesus, when He was here said, "why do
you call me good? There is none good but the Father." There is a
difference in showing respect to a person but that was more than respect!
I don't suppose I have ever in my life seen
a more unhappy man than Leander Ray as he looked in the video. I pray that somehow, some
way he can be SET FREE. Again, I ask you, how can you do what you do to people?
I am enclosing a copy of a page from a book
called "The
Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse." You
should and would do well to read that book along with "Churches That
Abuse."
You know, God still loves even you.
I am praying for you and the precious people
of your church.
Sincerely,
Wanda Mason
